DRIVESHAFT INSPECTION
Inspection
1. Driveshaft - Inspect
Check the inboard boot (A) and the outboard boot (B) on the driveshaft
(C) for
cracks, damage, leaking grease, and loose boot bands (D).
Front Driveshaft Disassembly and Reassembly
Special Tools Required
CV Boot Clamp Pliers 30500, commercially
available
Bearing Puller, commercially available
Slide Hammer 5/8"-18 UNF, commercially available
Threaded Adapter, 26 x 1.5 mm 07XAC

Removal & Installation
A-Pillar Trim
1. A-Pillar Trim - Remove
Remove the front door opening seal (A) as needed
Remove the A-pillar trim (B).
2. All Removed Parts - Install
Install the parts reverse order of removal.
B-Pillar Upper/Lower Trim
3. Front Door Sill Trim - Remove - Refer to:
DTC Troubleshooting B280A-87: No Signal From the Rear Safing Sensor

Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, find out if the vehicle was
in a collision. If so, verify
that all the required components were replaced with new components, of the
correct part number,
and that they were properly installed.
