Honda HR-V: Torque Converter Housing Bearing Replacement (CVT)

Snap Ring Pliers 07LGC- 0010100

Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) - Service Information

Replacement

NOTE: Apply a light coat of clean transmission fluid on all parts before installation.

1. Torque Converter Housing Bearing - Remove

  1. While expanding the snap ring (A) using the snap ring pliers, remove the torque converter housing bearing (B).
  2. Remove the snap ring.

2. Torque Converter Housing Bearing - Install

  1. Install a new snap ring (A).

    NOTE:

    • Be careful not to deform the snap ring by opening/closing it excessively.
    • Make sure the snap ring is firmly installed in the groove.
  2. While expanding the snap ring using the snap ring pliers, install the torque converter housing bearing (B) as shown.

    NOTE: Make sure the snap ring is firmly installed in the groove.

Replacement

NOTE: Apply a light coat of clean transmission fluid on all parts before installation.

TORQUE CONVERTER TURBINE SPEED SENSOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION (CVT)

Removal and Installation

NOTE: Keep all foreign particles out of the transmission.

1. Vehicle - Lift

2. Engine Undercover - Remove (With 2WD)

3. Torque Converter Turbine Speed Sensor - Remove

  1. Disconnect the connector (A).

    NOTE: Check the connector for corrosion, dirt, or oil, and clean or repair if necessary.

  2. Remove the torque converter turbine speed sensor (B) with the O-ring (C).

4. All Removed Parts - Install

  1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

    NOTE:

    • When installing the torque converter turbine speed sensor, be sure to use a new O-ring which should be applied a light coat of clean transmission fluid before installation.
    • If necessary, add transmission fluid to the proper level.
