INTERIOR LIGHTS SYSTEM DESCRIPTION - COMPONENTS

Front Individual Map Light

The front individual map light is equipped for all vehicles. The front individual map light can be turned on and off by pressing on the map light lens*1 or interior light switch (built into the interior light/moonroof switch)*2

Console Box Light

The console box light is placed inside a console box. The console box light illuminates when the taillight relay is ON. The console box light brightness can be adjusted by the gauge control module.

Ceiling Light

The ceiling light is placed in the center of the headliner linking with an entry light control system.

Cargo Area Light

The cargo area light is placed in the left rear side trim. The cargo area light illuminates when the tailgate opens.

Vanity Mirror Lights (With moonroof)

Some type model has the vanity mirror lights built into both visors. The vanity mirror lights illuminates when the vanity mirror cover opens.

INTERIOR LIGHTS SYSTEM DESCRIPTION - CONTROL/FUNCTION

System Function

Initial state of connection of electric power supply

In the initial state of connection of electric power supply, close/open of each door is detected and controlled without being affected by states of the vehicle mode and the driver's door lock knob switch.

Driver's door lock knob switch link

When the driver's door lock knob switch moves from the lock/unlock position, the MICU detects a driver's door open/close position, and controls the interior lights.

Each door switch link

By opening each door or the tailgate, the MICU will light the interior lights at anytime.

Ignition key switch/Remote link

When the system detects that the ignition key is inserted into the ignition key switch, or the remote is inside the vehicle, it provides a ground to the interior lights.

Ignition switch/engine start/stop switch link

If all doors closed and turned the vehicle to the ON mode, the MICU fades off the interior lights.

Keyless link

When the MICU receives an unlock signal from the keyless access control unit (or immobilizer-keyless control unit), it provides a ground to the interior lights.

Timer Control

The chart shows lighting duration, along with the dimming function that occurs at the end of the timer period.

Tailgate Link Control

The MICU controls the cargo area light ON/OFF based on the tailgate latch switch signals.

INTERIOR LIGHTS SYSTEM DESCRIPTION - OVERVIEW

The interior lights of this vehicle is equipped with the front individual map light, the cargo area light, the ceiling light, the vanity mirror lights*3, and the console box light. The entry light control system is controlled by the MICU from the ignition switch signal*1 or engine start/stop switch signal*2, the ignition key switch*1 or keyless access control unit*2, the door switch signal of each door, the driver's door lock knob switch, tailgate latch switch, and the B-CAN signal. An front individual map light, cargo area light, the ceiling light, the vanity mirror lights*3, and console box light are automatically turned ON/OFF.
